Legacy FC G93 Maroon Lightning - PSPL Champions
The GU17 Legacy FC Maroon Lightning team are the winners of the top-flight Super League division of the Puget Sound Premier League. They ended their season with a 10-1-1 record. Winning the division gives them an invite into the Northwest Champions League, which the most competitive league in the region playing against top clubs from Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Canada: http://www.northwestchampions.com/
The team will finish off the season by playing in Washington Cup, for a chance to advance to the Mustang Stampede (One of California’s most prestigious showcase tournaments).
One of our main focuses this year was to make every effort to provide players opportunities to showcase their soccer talents to college coaches while playing against high-end competition. We accomplished that goal by competing in the FieldTurf Cup, where they won 3 games and lost 1, competing in the Crossfire Challenge and reaching the finals of the Pacific Coast Super Cup battling teams from Oregon & Washington.
Travel and training are expensive endeavors! All donations are greatly appreciated and your donations are tax deductible! For more information on how to support upcoming team event, please contact team manager, Rhonda Haimes.

Stop by to take a tour of our Brazilian Circuit training stations :) and give the Futsal ball scrimmage a try. This team mainly trains in a central location to the coach and players, which happens to be in the South Everett area.
This team will be focused on training hard all summer long attending college attended tournaments and not just tournaments with the Showcase name on it. We will also be providing sports performance training for every player and we are also bringing in a Brazilian trainer 3-4 times a month during the soccer season.
This group of girls is very committed to playing top notch soccer as most have aspirations of playing college ball. We focus on the player, so that the team becomes the best. Its not about wins, but they all want to win, so we give them the tools to use to get the wins.
Style of play- Brazilian style soccer is our main focus, so our players are taught the 4 principles of Brazilian soccer and we are serious about using these principles during training and games.
- Ball on the ground
- Switching the ball
- Diagonal passing
- Quick touches on the ball
Michler: Motivation plays a big part. It’s always best if the motivation is intrinsic where the players want to get better, but sometimes I have to provide some additional motivation for them. If I need to be with a player at every moment to motivate him, then that’s a problem.
There comes a moment when the player is on his own. If he can’t motivate himself, then he’ll never be an extraordinary performer. Some players need constant reinforcement, and those players just aren’t going to become extraordinary performers.
Intrinsic motivation is important because no player can be an extraordinary performer without having taken his technical skills to a very, very high level. To do that requires thousands of hours of practice with effective coaches over a period of 10 to 12 years. No player will be willing to do that if he is not motivated to improve, and most of that motivation has to come from within the player.
